Scarlet & Gray Advantage
The Ohio State University is creating the Scarlet & Gray Advantage program with a bold goal: to offer undergraduate students the opportunity to earn their bachelor’s degree, debt-free. This program, which will be brought to scale over the next decade, will empower Buckeyes to control their own financial futures and prepare for success after graduation. To achieve this ambitious and meaningful goal for our Buckeyes, we welcome support from generous donors and friends who will help turn students’ dreams into realities and inspire others to do the same.
A matching program like no other
Ohio State will raise at least $800 million over the next decade to expand undergraduate scholarships.
To kick off this effort, the university and lead donors have created a matching program that will double up to $50 million in private donations (of $100,000 or more) that establish new endowments or support existing ones for scholarships. The university will also provide grant assistance.

Because I have a scholarship, I was able to take more classes in the medical humanities, providing me with a more holistic background. - Varshita Chirumamilla '22, College of Medicine
Varshita is a senior from Powell, Ohio, majoring in Biomedical Science, with minors in Medical Humanities and Medical Pharmacology. She will graduate in Spring 2022 with a Bachelor's in Biomedical Science and Honors Research Distinction.
"I am incredibly appreciative of the President's Club Scholarship because of the amazing opportunities it has provided me. The support of the scholarship also let me pursue internships over the past few years, and I had wonderful opportunities to work for the Make-A-Wish Foundation and the National Institutes of Health. Finally, it was such an honor to attend the President's Club huddles and talk to alumni and OSU administration and network with professionals across disciplines. This scholarship has enriched my experience at Ohio State, and I am very grateful!"
Varshita was chosen for the Ohio State 2021 Homecoming Court. She said it has been a joy to meet alumni and administrators and work at various campus events, such as the involvement fair, holding the banner at convocation and the Welcome Week booths.
After graduation, Varshita plans to go to medical school. She is currently in the process of completing applications, with the hopes of starting in August of 2022.
